Darren James Interiors awarded ‘Best Kitchen Display’ at the recent 2007 HIA Home Building and Renovation Expo
Thank you to everyone that attended our kitchen showcase at the recent 2007 HIA Home Building and Renovation Expo and made our first year at the show such a great success! Definitely one of the highlights for Darren James Interiors was being awarded ’Best Kitchen Display’ at this years Expo.
The theme for our European inspired kitchen was derived from Leonardo Davinci’s quote: ‘Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication’. Clean lines, perfect details, colours and timber grains that dared to be original and impeccable finishes. True to our innovating spirit, this kitchen offered modern, albeit free from emphemeral trends. This kitchen truly represented a steady strength of a classic spirit.
To maintain an image of absolute minimalism the handles were integrated into the doors where they remained invisible. The fully integrated stainless steel sink doubling as a worktop rests at more a more ergonomic height above the adjoining cooktop height, also adding visual dimension. Keeping with the minimalist look, appliances again are integrated including the concealed fridge Leibherr fridge hidden the horizontal grain teak wall unit. The introduction of the Blum stainless steel inner draws and orgaline systems not only kept with the aesthetics of the kitchen but provided intelligent organization and functionality. Other elegant technical solutions such as the Blum-motion seal-mechanism allows the doors of the units to recede softly and silently close were standard. Whilst fulfilling all practical necessities, this truly pioneering design introduces the ultimate sophistication and pushes the boundaries of the traditional ideas of a kitchen.
The home show has long been a place for builders, designers, trade, renovators and new home buyers to find the latest products and services and to network and connect, this year was certainly no exception. We enjoyed meeting you all and once again thank you for all your support.
