1. Authorized Personnel Only
No clients or children on site unless approved by management.
Entry restricted to authorized personnel only.
2. Safety Requirements
PPE must be worn at all times.
Workers must hold General Safety Induction cards and complete site induction.
Electrical leads and power tools must be tested, tagged, and have safety guards in place.
3. Site Conduct & Behaviour
No smoking anywhere on site.
Maintain site cleanliness; use provided bins.
Follow parking directions; do not block driveways.
All works carried out within apartment buildings must comply at all times with the building’s by-laws and any body corporate requirements, including noise restrictions, access procedures, and work hour limitations. Where no by-laws are specified, the relevant city or regional council regulations will apply.
Treat all persons on site with respect.
No workboots on finished surfaces, including waterproofing areas.
Alcohol and drugs strictly prohibited; violators removed immediately.
Inform Project Manager of any deviations from purchase orders, schedule, budget, or products.
4. Site Cleanliness & Waste Management
Rubbish/lunch wrappers must go in bins at end of day. $220 back charge if ignored.
Dispose of waste in designated bins; protect wildlife and vegetation.
5. Temporary Fencing
Temporary fencing must be put back in place before leaving site. $220 back charge if ignored.
6. Tools, Equipment & Materials
Inspect tools before use; report defects.
Store materials safely inside site boundaries.
Test and tag electrical equipment every 3 months.
Follow manufacturer’s instructions for tools/machinery.
Only trained/authorized personnel may operate machinery.
7. Excavation, Lifting & Working at Heights
Barricade excavations >1.5m; ladders every 9m.
Use lifting equipment with inspection tags; operators must be licensed.
Fall protection systems must not be modified without approval.
Secure or remove hazardous protrusions (starter bars, bolts, pipes).
8. Mobile Plant & Machinery
Provide SWMS for mobile powered plant.
Follow instructions from licensed operators.
Wear high-visibility clothing around machinery.
Stop use of defective machinery immediately and report.
9. Manual Handling & Hazardous Substances
Use proper lifting techniques; get assistance for heavy/awkward items.
Provide Hazardous Substance Registers and SDS; follow instructions.
Conduct post-risk assessments after using hazardous materials.
10. Health & Environmental Safety
Use UV protection, take shaded breaks, hydrate, rotate tasks.
Manage exposure to respirable crystalline silica (RCS) with PPE.
Control noise exposure — approved hearing protection must be worn when operating or working near high-noise tools or machinery. Subcontractors/other PCBUs are responsible for supplying their own PPE and complying with any required audiometric testing.
11. Amenities
Use toilets, drinking water, and shelter responsibly.
Maintain hygiene and report any issues.
12. Hot Works
- Hot works permit to be completed and signed off prior to welding or other hot works commencing onsite
Remove combustible materials; have fire extinguisher ready.
Complete SWMS before starting.
Inspect area post-work to ensure no fire hazards.
13. Hazard Reporting
Report hazards immediately to the site manager.
14. Emergency Protocols
Follow evacuation procedures outlined in site induction.
All visitors must sign in/out and be accompanied.
Assist injured or disabled workers during emergencies.
Fire: STOP, DROP, ROLL if clothing catches fire; use fire equipment safely.
Bomb threats/suspicious objects: do not handle; notify principal contractor and authorities.
