That’s a wrap on Milan Design Week 2024!
After what’s been a jam packed week full of showroom tours, fair visits, cocktail parties, and exclusive formal events, we couldn’t let the opportunity pass without sharing our fantastic experiences with you!
Before heading over, we thought we’d ask the design team for what they’re most excited for;
Claudia – “It’s my first MDW which I couldn’t be more excited about! I really don’t know what to expect so I’d have to say I’m just so keen to be immersed in all things design! I am also looking forward to all the networking too, and getting to meet inspiring people from all areas of the design industry.”
Kari – “I’m most excited to catch up with the Dulux team for a day of Trend Spotting including visiting Nilufar Depot and Rossana Orlandi Gallery – both incredible. And my absolute favourite exhibition, Alcova. Looking forward to seeing how the Alcova team has transformed the new locations for this week.”
So for those who’ve been eager to attend MDW themselves, or simply curious on the inside scoop of our antics around the city… keep reading!
Exploring the street & visiting Galleries
Without a doubt, one of the best parts of Milan Design Week is the opportunity to wander through Milan’s storied streets, discovering new showrooms and galleries that are hidden gems just waiting to be found! Many of our favourite moments arise from these serendipitous discoveries. This year, we were thrilled to unexpectedly come across the Dedar Milano Showroom and the Kerakoll Brera Showroom, among others.
In Dedar’s showroom, we were privileged to receive a private tour of the space and were even given a sneak peek at new product ranges set to launch later this year! Here are some highlights from our time spent wandering:

Showroom Visits
Milan is renowned for having some of the finest showrooms in the world, and they truly outdo themselves during Milan Design Week!
We always make it a point to carve out time to visit these showrooms and explore the new products set in such stunning environments. The showcases by Italian kitchen and bathroom brands like Modulnova and Valcucine were particularly impressive. It’s incredibly inspiring to see the meticulous attention to detail and the premium quality of the joinery that these manufacturers provide.

Many brands also held pop-up events during MDW, transforming existing residential apartments, buildings, or even underground venues into showcases for their products. Some of our top favourites included the Muuto Apartment, Artemest L’Apartmento, and the Memphis Milano Gallery. These spaces were not only filled with innovative designs but also offered a unique way to experience the aesthetics and functionality of the products in a real-world setting.

Salone Del Mobile Fair Day
Of course we had to visit the fair, with massive crowds and even bigger halls filled with rows and rows and rows of stands…. It’s important to go in with a plan!
We focused on EuroCucina and International Bathroom Exhibition first, this is a bi annual extension of the fair that is all about kitchen and bathrooms – certainly not one to miss!The Molteni & C stand is always a hit! We were lucky enough to meet up with our local reps, Dilhan and Pablo, for a private tour of all the furniture and joinery in their collection.
After a quick bite to eat we headed straight back into the halls and quite literally walked around until we thought our legs would give out…. We kept saying to ourselves “We will leave after this one…” but then find ourselves walking into another stand!

Evening Parties & Events
As days rolled to evenings, the fun never stops! You really can’t begin to explain how lively the city is! We were lucky enough to be invited to a variety cocktail parties & exclusive evening events with our highlights being;
Wine & Dine
An Italian experience isn’t complete without delving into the food & wine!
