As we close out the month of April, and scratch our heads about where on earth that month went! We wanted to pause to take a look back and reflect on what has inspired our Design Team this month?
It is so important as a Designer to stimulate your creative mind and inject new experiences and offerings into your weeks to spark that constantly desired inspiration! There’s creative inspiration everywhere so sometimes its about stopping, taking in it and morphing that special thing into your next project.
So whether its a new place, new book, something we noticed on a morning walk or an art gallery trip – we wanted to share what has inspired our Designers this month and encourage you to reflect in the same way!

Recent life milesone – Turning the BIG 3-0
“I turned 30 this April which brought on a heap of questions from friends and family asking about what my goals are for my 30’s. Purchasing a property, traveling more, etc. which inspired me to sit down and think about my goals for the coming years. Goal setting is so fun and incredibly rewarding when you can look back and say “hell yea, look what I did”. I reckon my 30’s will be the best years, and I am so incredibly excited to see what I can achieve over the next decade.”

Recent supplier meeting – with Elliott Clarke
“Whether it’s technically complicated or deceptively simple – I’m a huge texture lover, especially when it comes to fabrics!!! I’m always touching and feeling everything and love reverse engineering the artist’s process to unpick the stitches used to create those layers of detail!!! I particularly liked the Alhambra collections ‘Etna’ and ‘Siembra’ that Elliott Clarke presented to us recently”

New Concepts + New Products
“I’ve really loved running through the initial concepts with Kari for all our new projects – lots of great designs on the horizon. I have also enjoyed seeing all the stunning new natural stones that are currently available from our suppliers like CDK Stone and Artedomus that we are looking at for upcoming designs!”
CLAUDIA –
Recent supplier meeting – with EST Lighting
“I strongly believe that lighting is one of the most crucial parts of interior design, technically and aesthetically. I always love learning about new suppliers that I can go to for upcoming projects but it’s especially good being able to learn about the brands themselves – such as the background stories on where the lighting fixtures originated / were created! It allows us to really resonate with that particular piece making it that much more special when incorporating into one of our designs.”

New collection – from G-LUX Natural Stone
“It inspires me because of the colour and veining – how the earth can create such vibrancy and rawness is mind blowing. I also love the uniqueness, it inspires me to think out of the box. We have recently used the ‘Illusion’ stone in a concept and paired it with a really vibrant blue wallpaper. It was really inspiring to push the boundaries with the design and try new things. I also love that each slab is different, it cannot be replicated or created again which means each space, home, kitchen has a uniqueness to it that makes each space special to that particular design.”

Recent showroom visit – to Cult Design Brisbane
“Felt super inspired after our recent breakfast event at Cult’s Showroom in Brisbane. It was so great to see all their collections and current ranges in person – the tactile nature of being about to sit in a chair, touch the fabric and see the colourways is so nice!”
We’ve put together a fun little video of our recent visit – you can watch it here.

Current read – A Frame for Life: The designs of Studioilse by Ilse Crawford
“A book by one of my favourite designers, Ilse Crawford – I’m inspired by her design philosophy and holistic approach to design, putting the user at the centre and using design as a tool to enhance the human experience of spaces.”
Stay inspired out there!
